From the President of Remount Foundation
Hello,
As the end of the year draws closer, we enter into the official “holiday” season, a joyous time of celebrations with family and friends. Sadly, such festivities are painful for some of your neighbors. Suicide continues to be a problem in Southern Colorado. According to the latest El Paso County Coroner’s report, 28% of suicides in 2023 occurred to those in our active-duty military and veteran community. Beyond combat trauma, our participants seek healing from the wounds inflicted by the hidden traumas within military service and civilian life. That’s where Remount Foundation comes in. We are a lifeline to the military community. Our unique “Remount Method” helps participants learn to cope with stress and effectively re-enter society as productive individuals. We never charge for our services; they are accessible at no cost to warriors and their families from all military branches.
On a personal note, I became involved with the Remount Foundation board of directors after a life-changing experience with the program. Remount was invaluable to me, and I’m just one of the over 16,000 participants during our 15-year existence who can testify to the power of this program. I invite you to explore our organization’s mission and then connect with me and Team RF using the links on this website. We look forward to partnering with you to transform lives from surviving to thriving–empowering America’s bravest and their families to harness peace through horses.

RF LifeStories and Experiences
“Everyone will miss the opportunity to know who you are, until you can tell your story to anyone. That includes yourself.”
Humans have the privilege of storytelling. Whether relating facts of something we witnessed, describing the pain we encountered during a verbal altercation with a loved one, or spinning the yarns of a tall tale, the role each of us plays in the lives of others around us, near and far, is defined by our experiences in life. In the following section, the stories and experiences of our participants, volunteers, staff, and donors are presented to give you a deeper look into the “horsepower” of the EAP program. These testimonials show how the RF Method’s utilization of horses guides our participants to discover peace within their trauma so that they can begin their renewed journey moving from surviving to thriving.
